How spicy is ‘Love on the Brain’? 🌶🌶.5/5 - Bad, derivative writing and plotting aside, I can’t say enough good things about the MC’s chemistry. Mainly due to the fact that it’s a carbon copy of TLH, only not nearly as good. It was an average, if disappointing, read. Now give us your mini-review of ‘Love on the Brain’: I feel like the big question heading into this book was: how does Ali Hazelwood's latest rom-com stack up to her bestseller (and one of my personal favorites) The Love Hypothesis? While there's plenty of sizzling chemistry between rivals Bee and Levi, and a wonderful amount of women in STEM representation (all of which have become a calling card for Hazelwood: enemies-to-lovers + great science + even better chemistry), I can't lie: there’s just something. But when it comes time to actually make a move and put her heart on the line, Bee finds herself with far more than a history-making science project on her hands. The possibilities have all her neurons firing. and devouring her with those eyes (ooh-la-la).

When Bee’s equipment starts to go missing and the staff ignore her, she could swear she sees Levi softening into an ally, backing her plays, seconding her ideas. Until, that is, she discovers she’s actually co-leading the project with Levi Ward, her nemesis from grad school. So, what is ‘Love on the Brain’ about? Engineer Bee Königswasser is offered the lead role on a neuroengineering project at NASA, which feels like a literal dream come true.
